Jon Beason leaves Giants preseason game with sprained knee

An already injured Giants defense took another series of hits in the first half of Saturday night's preseason game against the Jaguars at MetLife Stadium.

Starting linebacker Jon Beason sprained his knee and is out for the contest. Backup linebacker Mark Herzlich suffered a concussion, while rookie safety Justin Currie was carted off the field after fracturing his ankle in kickoff coverage late in the first quarter.
