Jon Beason's first documented concussion in the NFL should have been avoided, he said, if not for a "cowardly" play by an opponent.
Beason was taken out of Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers after a collision with running back Carlos Hyde in the first quarter.
"I can honestly say that if I hadn't gotten pushed in the back I wouldn't have been concussed," Beason said on Friday, having cleared the concussion protocol which kept him on the sideline for several days. "It's unfortunate when another player, Alex Boone to be exact, can reach out, grab you from behind, and deliberately push you in the back.
