Jets coach Todd Bowles says LB David Harris has 'a bad bruise'

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- The New York Jets open the season in 13 days. Todd Bowles said he's not sure if linebacker David Harris will be ready to play because of his shoulder injury.

Bowles confirmed Monday that Harris suffered "a bad bruise" on Saturday night against the New York Giants and that X-rays were negative. On Sunday, sources indicated that Harris is expected to play Sept. 11 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Not surprisingly, Bowles was noncommittal.

"We'll see how it gets up into game week and see how it feels," the coach said.
