Jermaine Eluemunor took the kind of shot from Dexter Lawrence on Monday that no one wants to take, a hit to the ribs during an unpadded practice that left him crumpled to the ground.
It also left the Giants, who invested heavily in Eluemunor as part of their offensive line reconstruction, and their fans holding their breath.
The veteran offensive lineman, though, is fine—no broken ribs.
“It’s just really bad bruising,” Eluemunor said. “It’s nothing that should keep me out too long.”
Eluemunor participated in walk-through portions of Thursday’s practice and will be back in team drills as soon as he is allowed.
