Giants coach Tom Coughlin addressed the Jason Pierre-Paul situation before practice on Wednesday, confirming that the defensive end did visit with the team on Monday and that he has returned to Florida.
"(He) was in an outstanding frame of mind," Coughlin said. "Was not ready to play. Returned to South Florida. Optimistic about going forward and feeling better and continuing to work towards being able to come back. So we'll monitor that."
Coughlin added that Pierre-Paul has indeed been working out and had shown the team video of him doing so. Coughlin said that video was "conditioning-type stuff," which may have indicated that the defensive end has done little strength work.
