After Jason Pierre-Paul has just about every defensive snap so far this season, the Giants may now be forced to replace him.
The defensive end missed Wednesday’s practice with a groin injury. It’s too soon to say whether this will rule him out for Sunday’s game against the Ravens, but it’s certainly alarming for a defense that has leaned so heavily on him in terms of playing time.
Backing up JPP are rookie Romeo Okwara, Kerry Wynn and Owa Odighizuwa. The three of them have combined for 156 defensive snaps this season. Pierre-Paul has been on the field for 351 out of a total of 365 defensive plays.
