TAMPA, Fla. -- The New York Giants kept their plans for Jason Pierre-Paul close to the vest, but it appears they're not shy about throwing him right into serious game action. Pierre-Paul played 18 of the Giants' 26 first-half snaps Sunday against the Buccaneers, all at his normal position of right defensive end. He has yet to make any kind of significant pass-rush impact, but he's been active and physical in the run game and has given the left tackle a hard time on occasion even using just his left arm.
Pierre-Paul is playing for the first time since severely damaging his right hand in a July 4 fireworks accident, and he's wearing a heavy gray wrap on his right hand that looks like a large mitten.
