Jason Garrett may be part of Giants’ future after Joe Judge hire

Jason Garrett may not be the Giants’ next head coach, but it seems the team still wants him on its sideline.

The Giants have requested permission from the Cowboys to speak with Garrett about their offensive coordinator position under new coach Joe Judge, according to ESPN’s Ed Werder. Garrett, who was fired Sunday by the Cowboys as head coach, is still under contract with Dallas until Jan. 14. Judge was the Patriots’ special teams coordinator and wide receivers coach.

Garrett was considered a fallback option for the Giants as the head coach if things deteriorated with their top candidate Matt Rhule.
