James Bettcher could be the first Giants domino to fall

You know something, as Dan Reeves used to say, is “bad-wrong” when players sound as if they actually want something to change.

No one in the Giants locker room following their dismal 34-27 loss to the Jets asked for any coach to be fired or pointed any teammate to the door. But those in the know – the guys who have been around the NFL for a few years – understand all this tiresome losing must come with a price and that the bye-week respite is the time to strike.

Much of what happens next depends on how desperate co-owner John Mara is to send a message to the paying customers.
