Rosey Grier was on the phone with Frank Gifford just a few weeks ago, talking to his longtime Giants teammate, whose presence loomed so large during his Hall of Fame career.
And a world without Gifford just didn’t make sense.
“I was just shocked because it’s like Frank Gifford would just last forever,” Grier said Sunday on NFL Network, after hearing of Gifford’s passing at the age of 84.
“It’s just amazing to realize that you only live so long and you think you can go on forever, [but] it doesn’t matter how big your name is.
