EAST RUTHERFORD -- It was widely considered a reach when the Giants selected Ohio State cornerback Eli Apple with the 10th pick in the 2016 draft. Apple's inconsistent play through his first 19 games has done little to silence those skeptics.
Apple was called for a pair of costly pass interference penalties on deep balls in the second half of Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Eagles. He also misplayed the 19-yard pass that got the Eagles into range for the game-winning field goal with one-second remaining.
"Just everything," Apple responded when asked what he needs to improve.
