Is NFL Players Association preparing for a work stoppage?

Uh oh.

The NFL Players Association is preparing for something no football wants to think about: The possibility of a work stoppage halting America's most popular sport.

Yet, the NFLPA is trying to get out ahead of what could be a big problem--sooner than you think. When the 2011 lockout occurred, stopped the sport in its tracks and was eventually settled, a 10-year grace period hit the sport. That was six years ago, meaning we have until 2021 for this issue to take hold again.

But NFLPA spokesman George Atallah talked about warning the players well in advance in a recent spot on SiriusXM NFL Radio, per Pro Football Talk.
