LANDOVER, Maryland —There is no undoing the consequences of what went wrong on that ill-fated afternoon of Nov. 25, and Pat Shurmur must reckon with the reality that any meaningful hope of a divisional title had evaporated.
Shurmur played a central role in the Giants’ collapse against the Eagles, as they blew a 19-3 first-half lead and suffered a 25-22 loss against the defending Super Bowl champions in Philadelphia. He gambled and lost — badly — by having Eli Manning throw a deep pass to Odell Beckham Jr. near the end of the first half and watched as Malcolm Jenkins picked the ball off.
