EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. –Eli Manning is on the verge of completing one of the finest statistical seasons by a quarterback in Giants history. Of course, Manning already owns many of the franchise records he could break.
With two games remaining, Manning has thrown 546 passes and needs 56 more to reach 602 – which would be one more than the Giants record he set last season. He is averaging 39 attempts a game this year.
Manning has completed 348 passes this season, 31 shy of the team-record 379 he completed last year. He is averaging about 25 completions a game, and has twice had at least 30 completions this season, so it’s not unreasonable to think he could set the mark Sunday night, when the Giants play in Minnesota.
