Leonard Williams is the embodiment of a near-miss.
The Giants’ trade for Williams already looks like a much bigger miss — with the potential to keep growing if general manager Dave Gettleman still sees his deadline acquisition as the “foundational player” he promised to the team’s fan base.
“If you are going to say an elite defensive lineman starts at $10 million [per year], then a guy has to be changing the game,” NFL Network analyst Brian Baldinger told The Post. “I think there is value in what he does: He plays the game the right way.
