Conventional wisdom around the Giants was that after Weston Ricbhurg signed with the San Francisco 49ers as a free agent, that Brett Jones would walk into the starting role after spending time at both center and guard last season.
Instead, what has developed throughout the spring has been one of the most hotly contested position battles on the roster between Jones and Jon Halapio.
Despite splitting time with Halapio this spring, Jones downplayed the notion that his current position battle is any different than his situation entering the league as a rookie last season.
“I think that for me," Jones told NJ Advance Media following the final minicamp practice of the spring.
