If we told you the answers at mid-season were Roger Lewis Jr., Paul Perkins, Bobby Hart, Will Tye and Jerell Adams, the question most likely would have gone something like this: Are the Giants so bad that they are already in look-ahead-to-next-year mode?
Quite the opposite.
The Giants, at 5-3 after their crucial 28-23 victory over the Eagles, would be the No. 5 seed in the NFC if the playoffs started today. Of course, does anything ring more hollow than the old “if the playoffs started today’’ line? Still, it shows how far the Giants have come, how flawed the entire conference is and how close the Giants are to crashing the postseason party for the first time since 2011.
