All that talk of injury prevention didn’t last long. Three weeks into the season, and the Giants may be without three key players Monday night against the Vikings: running back Shane Vereen and cornerbacks Eli Apple and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.
While Vereen will be out at least six weeks after suffering a triceps injury and being placed on injured reserve, the status is uncertain for Apple (hamstring) and Rodgers-Cromartie (groin).
In the meantime, the Giants will have to rely on their depth at two key positions. In both instances, there isn’t one player being asked to fill the void, but a few potential replacements.
