How Amukamara has become the ‘big brother’ of Giants’ defense

No sir, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie said, he is not the heir apparent as the leader of the secondary now that his buddy Antrel Rolle is with the Bears in Chicago.

“I’m a quiet guy,’’ Rodgers-Cromartie said Monday after an organized team activity practice, passing the leadership baton to the other starting cornerback, Prince Amukamara.

“He’s the captain, we follow his lead,’’ Rodgers-Cromartie said. “He’s the vocal guy. It ain’t me. It sure ain’t me.’’

Amukamara, walking in front of Rodgers-Cromartie’s locker, let out an “Oh, man’’ when he overheard his teammate championing his captaincy.

“I think that title is just probably something by default because I’ve been here the longest and I have four years under my belt,’’ Amukamara said.
