EAST RUTHERFORD -- While it seemed for most of the offseason like only a matter of waiting for the other shoe to drop, Aldrick Rosas managed to keep his foot in the door.
NFL free agency opened in March, but week after week went by without the Giants signing a veteran kicker to challenge Rosas and fellow unproven youngster Marshall Koehn. The surplus of available kickers alleviated some urgency but never made it feel like anything less than an inevitable move.
Then training camp started, and Rosas and Koehn are the only kickers battling for the job.
