Hits keep coming for Giants’ beleaguered cornerbacks

The Giants’ cornerback situation gets dicier by the day.

On Tuesday, it was announced No. 1 corner Janoris Jenkins would be suspended for Sunday’s game against the Rams after missing practice without alerting the team of his whereabouts. And Thursday, corner Donte Deayon suffered an ankle injury, and was limited in practice. For the moment, that leaves the Giants with three healthy cornerbacks: Eli Apple, Dominique-Rodgers Cromartie and Ross Cockrell.

“I got a couple of plays in me,” defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo said jokingly. “It’s an interesting one. We’ll find out. Hopefully we’ll be OK there.
