DETROIT -- Saquon Barkley didn't play in Friday night's 30-17 Giants preseason victory over the Lions, but the rookie running back shared a memorable moment before kickoff with one of his football heroes.
Legendary Lions Hall of Fame running back Barry Sanders met Barkley on the sideline prior to kickoff, and it made a strong impression on the Giants' rookie who is a self-proclaimed student of the game.
"Yeah, that was awesome to meet Barry," Barkley told NJ Advance Media following Friday night's 30-17 Giants preseason win over the Detroit Lions.
