EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The contract that injured defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul signed with the New York Giants on Tuesday guarantees him $1.5 million and can be worth more than $3 million if he's on the game-day active roster for each of the final seven games of the Giants' season, according to a source.
The deal also includes incentives based on playing time and sacks that could, in theory, add an additional $5.71 million to the deal and raise it to about $8.71 million -- which is the amount that remained on his franchise-tender number after he missed the first seven games following his July 4 fireworks accident.
