After all, star New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham grabbed eight passes on 11 targets for 136 receiving yards. Future Hall of Famer Saquon Barkley caught nine passes on 10 target for 73 yards.
Defensively, the G-Men held the Washington Redskins top receiving threat, Josh Doctson, to less than 50 yards receiving. Heck, the New York Giants even ran more plays than the Washington Redskins (68 to 65).
So what gives?
Mostly, to prove a point that Barkley was the right draft pick, or quarterback Eli Manning isn’t the biggest offensive problem, cherry-picking of statistic has taken on a life of its own.
