Golden Tate began this NFL season by serving a four-game suspension he felt was unjust. Four weeks spent watching from his home in San Diego while the Giants started their 2019 season.
Not playing football — something he had spent a lifetime doing this time of year — was difficult to endure. Yet, when Tate was finally activated, the Giants were coming off a triumphant 24-3 victory over Washington at MetLife Stadium.
It was their second straight win with rookie Daniel Jones as the starting quarterback and evened their record at 2-2. There was an excitement about Jones and optimism about the team.
