In two days of practice against the Detroit Lions, rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers showed why his presence could be transformative for the New York Giants’ offense.
Quarterback Daniel Jones threw to Nabers 17 times over the two days of practice. A ridiculous 16 of those passes were completions.
There were short drag routes and other assorted throws near the line of scrimmage. There were crossing routes. There were comeback routes where Nabers used the cushion afforded him by Detroit cornerbacks for easy 15-20-yard catches. There were deep shots where Nabers made contested catches.
