In a surprising move, the New York Giants have waived/injured wide receiver Darius Powe as part of a Wednesday morning roster shuffle.
Powe has been one of the most impressive players on the Giants’ roster over the course of the off-season and showed his physical upside against the Pittsburgh Steelers. After the game it looked as though he had an inside track to make the roster and contribute.
Since that game he has dealt with a hamstring injury, which has prompted the Giants to waive him with an injured designation.
The Giants also announced that they have waived/injured wide receiver Andrew Turzilli (hamstring), as well as waived offensive linemen Corin Brooks and Michael Bowie (who is facing domestic assault charges).
