According to ESPN's Jordan Raanan, the New York Giants have waived former fifth-round pick, Mykkele Thompson.

Thompson, who was drafted as a safety out of Texas in 2015, converted to cornerback this offseason because of the team's need for a fourth corner.
Raanan adds that Thompson was waived based on an injury and not his play - he played only one game over two seasons with the team due to injuries.
