The 0-1 New York Giants will try to avoid their eighth 0-2 start in nine seasons on Thursday night when they travel to Landover, Md. to face the Washington Football Team, which is also 0-1.
The Giants lost their season opener to the Denver Broncos, 27-13. The Football Team lost to the Los Angeles Chargers, 20-16.
Washington is the defending NFC East champion.
The Football Team announced Monday that starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick will go on injured reserve with a hip sublexation. Taylor Heinecke will start at quarterback against the Giants.
