EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New York Giants will be without starting left tackle Ereck Flowers (ankle) and starting defensive end Robert Ayers (hamstring) for Thursday's game against the Washington Redskins.
The 0-2 Giants need a victory against the 1-1 Redskins to help erase the sting of blowing back-to-back fourth-quarter leads in their two season-opening losses.
Without Flowers, Justin Pugh will play left tackle and John Jerry will play left guard. Ayers has been the most effective pass rusher on a defensive line that has struggled to rush the passer.
