The New York Giants starters got the night off against the New England Patriots.
So, while Odell Beckham Jr. and Saquon Barkley were running around in pads before the game, they wouldn’t take the field. None of the Giants’ starters would take the field, though an edict from head coach Pat Shurmur had all of them in pads to help build team chemistry.
There were a few players who will play a considerable number of reps with the starters on the field, however. Players like Wayne Gallman, Lorenzo Carter, and Ray-Ray Armstrong all had extended snaps in the first half, and looked to be on a different level than the other players on the field.
