The Giants won the opening coin toss and, of course, elected to defer and give the Cardinals the ball to start the game.
The game got off to about as poor a start for the Giants as was possible. The Giants’ defense proved unable to slow down Arizona’s defense leading to a methodical 75-yard drive for a touchdown to start the game. The Cardinals’ defense then got their first interception of the year to end the Giants’ opening drive, which lead to a quick second touchdown for Arizona.
