Giants visit JPP to investigate hand burn mystery

Three days after one of their most important players badly injured himself playing with fireworks, the Giants had officials from the organization in South Florida on Tuesday to check on the condition of Jason Pierre-Paul.

The visit by the contingent — believed to include the team’s longtime head trainer, Ronnie Barnes — is one manifestation of the organization’s concern over the well being of their 26-year-old defensive end, who suffered significant burns on both of his hands in a July 4 fireworks mishap. It’s also due diligence in figuring out how serious the injuries are — and how they might affect him on the field.
