There was a lot of talk about ‘clean slates’ being given to players from a new Giants coaching staff this offseason, but several veterans have adopted a different metaphor to make sure that a disastrous, and turmoil riddled 2017 doesn’t repeat itself this season.
“Last year is just kind of like an afterthought,” Giants outside linebacker Olivier Vernon told NJ Advance Media following practice this week. “It’s in the rearview, but you still see it. You still remember how it felt. Guys don’t ever want to feel that way again. All you can do is go up from there.
