TAMPA, Fla. — Eli Apple insists he is not getting picked on.
“You show me a corner who doesn’t get targeted, and I’ll make sure to tell you you’re probably a liar,’’ Apple said.
Well, it sure looked as if the Eagles went after Apple last week, and were rewarded, with Apple drawing pass interference penalties of 41 and 36 yards — the first was legit, the second questionable. Apple has received advice from Janoris Jenkins how to better track the deep ball.
“I just been telling him instead of him turning his head all the way around, just stay facing the man since he’s already at that point where he doesn’t have to turn his head and then the ball is underthrown and now he’s reaching and grabbing,’’ Jenkins said.
