Today the Giants cut their roster down from 90 to 74 players. In just 4 days they must come down to 53.
As for today though 9 players were released, 2 were placed on injured reserve, 2 were waived with an injury designation, and 1 more was placed on the physically unable to perform list.
None of those released were really a surprise. On the offensive side of the ball the Giants released wide receivers Jurion Criner and Derrick Johnson, offensive linemen Eric Herman and Michael Bamiro and tight end Will Tye.
As for defense, defensive end Jordan Stanton, defensive tackle Jimmy Staten and safety Justin Halley were handed their walking papers.
