All Landon Collins wanted was to be a first-round pick in the NFL draft. And now that his dreams are dashed, he's on a mission to show the league it made a mistake.
“All I know,” Collins said, “is I’m going to be a dominant player when I touch the field.”
Giants GM Jerry Reese certainly won’t mind. Reese opened Friday night’s NFL draft by trading up to the top of the second round, swapping places with the Tennessee Titans to finally end Collins’ two-day draft misery with the 33rd overall selection.
The Giants sent their own second-round pick (40th overall), fourth-rounder (108th) and a seventh-rounder (245th) to the Titans for the right to draft Collins.
