The Giants will honor the late Frank Gifford and the late Ann Mara in every game this season, Giants owner John Mara said on WFAN on Monday.
Mara said the players will wear a No. 16 patch on their helmets to honor Gifford, the Giants legend who died on August 9, at the age of 84. Gifford starred for the Giants in the 1950s and 60s and helped define the franchise. Mara called Gifford the "ultimate Giant" and "the face of our franchise for many years" last week.
In honor of Ann Mara players will wear a separate patch on their jerseys, John Mara said.
