Three highly-paid Giants veterans whose contributions in 2015 were severely limited by injuries will not have a chance at redemption with the team in 2016.
The Giants have notified Jon Beason, Will Beatty and Geoff Schwartz that they will be released, according to sources. Beason is likely to announce his retirement before the Giants formally submit the paperwork on the roster moves and formally announce them.
The moves will save the Giants more than $12 million in salary cap space in 2016, though the three still will account for $8.3 million in dead cap space.
Beatty, 30, did not play at all in 2015 because of a torn pectoral and shoulder injury and was supplanted at left tackle by rookie Ereck Flowers.
