The Giants could be getting the best linebacker they have had in decades . . . as a coach.
Hall of Famer Mike Singletary, a 10-time Pro Bowler during his playing career with the Bears, is interviewing to become the Giants’ linebacker coach on Thursday, a source confirmed to Newsday. Singletary also has coaching experience; he was head coach of the 49ers from 2009-10 and was last with the Vikings as their linebackers coach from 2011-13.
Singletary and Giants coach Ben McAdoo were on the same 49ers staff in 2005.
The Giants have not had a Pro Bowl linebacker since Antonio Pierce in 2006.
