In response to one of their players, tight end Daniel Fells, picking up a MRSA infection, the Giants have scrubbed their team facility, including the locker room and the trainers’ room.
“We are working with infectious disease specialists, and we have defined protocols that we are following in consultation with the Duke Infection Control Outreach Network and local infectious disease specialists. Those protocols are being followed carefully,’’ the Giants said in a statement.
Fells had been sidelined with a foot injury and he was dealing with a chronic ankle issue when the staph infection was discovered.
