Barry Cofield just notched another upset victory.
The former Giants defensive lineman, who was part of the historic Super Bowl win over the 18-0 New England Patriots, has secured a generous plea agreement, which will allow him to avoid a prison sentence after being arrested on charges of possession of heroin, fleeing and eluding and aggravated assault on a police officer, according to TMZ Sports. Cofield was facing as much as five years behind bars.
During the incident in Florida last July, Cofield, 34, was found passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle, and he rammed a police car during an ensuing pursuit.
