The Giants, it appears, are spending more time looking forward than they are backward.
They have tons of money to spend in NFL free agency but indications are they will not throw it around on players who might be on the downside of their career. They expressed some, but not overwhelming interest in Mario Williams, who not long ago was the highest-paid defensive player in the league. Reports Tuesday are rampant that Williams will sign with the Dolphins, having never even paid a visit to the Giants.
Sure, the Giants are $56.6 million under the salary cap and they could have afforded Williams, who might be headed to Miami for $8 million per year.
