PHOENIX — Thirteen years ago, there were three teams vying for the top three quarterbacks in the draft. Everyone seemed to realize that Eli Manning, Ben Roethlisberger and Philip Rivers would wind up with the Giants, Chargers and Steelers. It was just a matter of who would go where and when.
Those decisions eventually provided the teams with more than a decade of stability, and likely few regrets about how it all worked out.
Now, though, the teams that all found their franchise quarterback in 2004 are on the prowl again.
The Giants have made it clear that they are thinking about finding an eventual replacement for Eli Manning this offseason.
