New York Giants star running back Saquon Barkley is expected to miss the “next several weeks with a high ankle sprain, per a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
Barkley, the second overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft and the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year a season ago, was helped to the locker room shortly before halftime after landing awkwardly on his right foot.
He spent the second half watching the game on crutches while wearing a walking boot on his injured foot.
Barkley said Sunday evening his plan was “whatever it [the injury] is just work my tail off to get back.
