The New York Giants have signed veteran guard Greg Van Roten.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll confirmed the signing in his remarks before Tuesday’s practice. Daboll likewise refused to rule out the possibility of moving Jon Runyan Jr. from right guard to left guard after the addition of Van Roten. Runyan Jr. has spent all of the Giants’ offseason program at right guard, however Van Roten is a career right guard as well.
Van Roten’s agent has confirmed that the Giants signed the guard to a 1-year contract worth a maximum of $3 million. The deal has $920,000 guaranteed, and will hit the max value if he plays at least 50 percent of the offensive snaps.
