The Giants added an interesting player to their roster Monday.

Big Blue signed guard Austin Droogsma after he tried out for the team in its rookie minicamp over the weekend.

Droogsma went to Florida State, but did not play football. The 6-foot-4, 345-pound Droogsma was a standout performer for the Seminoles in track and field. He placed seventh in the NCAA in 2018 for shot put.

Droogsma has not played football since high school, but he showed the Giants enough in the minicamp to give him a roster spot and a longer look.
