ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news on Twitter that the New York Jets will be releasing linebacker David Harris.
“Another roster surprise: Jets are planning to release veteran LB David Harris, sources tell ESPN. Was going into 11th season,” tweeted Schefter.
Harris was the 35th ranked linebacker in the NFL last season, according to Pro Football Focus.
Harris had an overall grade of 77.6 in 2016. He was very good in pass coverage with a grade of 80.2. He was OK in run support with a rating of 69.0.
While it sounds like many people feel like Harris is declining, his PFF grade has been steady over the past four years.
