Giants' Shane Vereen re-injures triceps, season could be over

Giants running back Shane Vereen could be headed back to injured reserve.

Vereen has re-injured the same left triceps that he tore in a 29-27 loss to the Redskins on Sept. 25. Vereen was placed on injured reserve after suffering that injury and he missed 10 games before returning in last week's 10-7 win over the Cowboys.

Vereen suffered a concussion in the Cowboys game, but he was back in the lineup in Sunday's 17-6 win over the Lions. It appears that Vereen re-injured his triceps while extending for a high pass from quarterback Eli Manning early in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game.
