There were sure to be changes after Dave Gettleman took over as the Giants’ general manager, and the team on Wednesday announced a series of moves in its front office, college scouting and football operations departments.
Kevin Abrams, the assistant general manager the past 16 years, was given an added title of vice president of football operations. Abrams’ role likely will increase with Gettleman undergoing treatment for lymphoma. With growing football responsibilities, Abrams — the team’s salary-cap expert and chief contract negotiator — is positioned to be Gettleman’s successor down the road.
